Find out what's making you sick and how to heal.
Anthony William is the medical medium.
Hello, I'm Anthony William and you're listening to the medical medium radio show where each
week I talk about the most advanced healing information and secrets about health, much
of which is not found anywhere else and is decades ahead of what's out there now.
As I've always said, who has 10 or 20 or 30 years to wait for answers to their illnesses,
to their symptoms and conditions?
How many people out there have symptoms?
And you'd go to your practitioner like, what's this from?
What's this tingling from?
How come I'm so depressed?
And why does my stomach hurt?
Oh, it's IBS?
Is that what it is?
And it's like, it's not enough.
It's not enough answers.
And this whole medical medium show is to bring that information forward,
finally bring it forward.
And it's so important to understand.
Just look at autoimmune.
We still think autoimmune is the body attacking itself.
Can you believe that?
You're not going to hear that on the show because it's not the truth.
I was telling someone the other day that if you're looking at health books
and those health books have anything about autoimmune
and it's talking about the body attacking itself,
then you're shopping for antiques.
You're shopping for, you know what, on the weekends,
just go shopping for antiques.
Because really, that's what's happening.
I don't care if there's 500 health books in the stores, whatever,
or online, and you're shopping in them,
and they say the body's attacking itself,
they might give you alternative means to help the illnesses maybe.
They might talk about, hey, take out dairy, take out some wheat maybe.
But if they think the body's still attacking itself,
and these antibodies are still injuring organs, it's antiquity.
Okay?
We're talking just go shopping for antiques on the weekend.
Bring something nice home.
Because, you know, a lamp or something.
And I say this because that's how bad it is.
That's how bad it is.
And on this show, you're not going to get that crap.
You're just not going to get that.
Because guess what?
That doesn't get you better.
That doesn't get you better.
That stuff from the past is not going to get you better.
Has it gotten anybody better in 30, 40 years, 50 years, 60 years with that understanding that the body is attacking itself?
No, it hasn't.
And sure, we clean up our diets and we improve a little.
But when you still think that your body is attacking itself, attacking its organs, attacking its glands, we're now in just – we're in the dark ages, man.
We're in the dark ages.
And it matters when your daughter is not feeling better and you're told that she's got Hashimoto's and her body is attacking.
It matters when these think this is real.
This is real stuff we're talking about on the medical medium show, and that's what it's all about.
So, hey, do you have 10 years to find out this information?
No, you don't.
You don't have 15, 20 years to just throw away to find it out.
And we've got to stop shopping for antiques.
Well, you could always shop for antique books.
That's fine.
But you know what?
You want the stuff that gets you the information now so you learn that your body's not attacking itself.
It's so important because today's show is about an autoimmune condition and type 1 diabetes.
Today's show is about understanding type 1 diabetes, type 1.5, 1.5, type 2.0, okay?
Diabetes, type 2.
Diabetes, it's one of the most prevalent mystery illnesses plaguing our world today.
And the true causes and best treatments for both type 1, 1.5, type 2 are largely unknown,
largely unknown. What causes diabetes is still actually unknown. How about that? Unknown until
today and until we expose these things. So listen, we're being joined together today with
Robbie Barbaro. Robbie is a guy that's amazing because he's been working with his type 1 diabetes.
He's at MindfulDiabetics.com where he helps people out.
He's an unbelievable coach.
The guy's an inspiration.
He's one of my heroes in this day and age.
And we're going to talk about his own experience managing type 1 diabetes using fresh fruits and vegetables.
Did I say fruits?
Wait a minute.
Fruit with diabetes?
We're allowed to eat fruit?
I'm not talking about the blueberries in a blueberry muffin.
The fake blueberries in blueberry.
And I'm not talking about strawberries in a strawberry shortcake.
I'm talking about fruit.
And he's going to talk about what inspires him, what motivates him to help others, you name it.
And he's totally, he's an amazing guy.
So he's going to be coming on.
Feel free to call in.
But if you call in, because we're going to take some callers, you guys.
If you call in, call in if you've got blood sugar problems, if you've got type 1 diabetes, type 1.5, type 2, whatever it is, type 3.
I don't think there's a type 3 listed out there yet.
but call in with your diabetes and let's take a look.
I've got Robbie on here.
I'm here.
We're going to kind of chat it out.
So anybody with any blood sugar issues, definitely be the callers for today
because really we want to address this issue today.
So you've got the number in U.S. Canada, 866-254-1579
and international 760-918-4300.
100. Now, did you know, on another note right here, did you know asparagus, eating asparagus
can help you heal Lyme disease and symptoms of Lyme disease? Did you know that asparagus
can help get rid of chronic fatigue syndrome? Did you know that asparagus actually reverses
infertility? How about this? How about this autoimmune condition celiac disease? Asparagus
helps get rid of celiac disease, helps stops that whole bit of inflammation that's unknown
to science.
Asparagus actually can help people with PCOS, help women with PCOS, shrinking down cysts
and tumors, fibroids.
And when you eat enough asparagus, so when you eat enough of it and it's in your diet
and it's not just in it once a month or in it like here and there, when you juice a little
bit of it when you actually, when you're eating it, it has this kind of power that's unknown.
You're not going to find that in any other books out there, but Life Changing Foods,
my new book coming up, Life Changing Foods. You're going to find it in there. And did you
know asparagus can help you overcome shyness, fear, insecurities, confidence issues? You didn't
know that. You're going to know it now. And it really does. This is information I've helped people
and change your lives all these decades from spirit.
It's only in life-changing foods.
And what's really cool is the whole thing with life-changing foods,
it has even spiritual lessons that these fruits and vegetables,
so over 50 fruits and vegetables, I talk about what they really do.
And when you line them up and you want to start working on the things that are wrong with you
and you start eating enough of these things, things start to change.
And it's in this book.
You've got to check this out.
There's a webinar I'm doing, live 90-minute webinar for anyone who's already pre-ordered that book, Life Changing Foods.
So you can join me on a one-time webinar that I'm doing.
And it's the only way to hear this webinar.
It's going to be 90 powerful minutes talking deep about Epstein-Barr virus and what it causes and the healing.
And that's coming up.
So if you haven't already gotten your copy, get your copy so you can log into that because it's going to be just totally awesome.
So, you know, a little bit about me.
You know I'm the medical medium.
Been like that since the age of four when I diagnosed my grandmother of lung cancer.
So people who, if this is your first time, folks, if this is your first time coming on to the show today,
that's what happened with me.
I heard a voice perfectly clear, just like your best friend's talking to you, where you hear it in real time.
This is not channeling.
This is not receiving information into my consciousness.
This is real time.
and I've been blessed with that gift on this planet
as being the one that hears it in real time.
That means I could take my hand,
I could partially block it
just like when someone's talking into your ear
and it's given me a life of purpose, obviously,
but it's also given me a really hard life too.
You could read about that in my first book.
I talk about that if you haven't already gotten that too.
I've helped, I dedicated my entire life,
I've had no choice actually
and then I've had to fall into that place of doing it
no matter what my entire life
helping people and getting them to where they need to be.
And one more thing, okay, in LA, November 5th, we're going to do the light blast from
spirit.
It's going to come down in everybody's head on the crown of their head, run through their
body.
We've had miraculous, miraculous things that have happened, experiences from the last event,
from the light coming through.
Hundreds of people felt it.
They've been, things have alleviated in their bodies.
They've moved forward with their health.
It's ignited their healing process.
So make sure you look into that event and that's what's happening there.
So I want to talk about diabetes because that's today.
And, you know, and I want to give you my take on it for a little bit,
spirit's take and information that we know about it.
First of all, like for instance, type 1 diabetes,
we're told it's autoimmune disease,
which means that there's autoantibodies attacking beta cells in the pancreas.
Okay.
And autoantibodies attacking insulin as well.
This is not accurate.
In fact, we really don't know anything.
Medical research, medical science doesn't know anything about what to do with type 1 diabetes besides insulin
because they don't know what's causing the problem.
And so we're told that our body is destroying itself.
And it's injuring.
It's actually injuring our own pancreas.
And that's not the truth.
So anyone that's ever dealt with this, it's like this with any autoimmune disease or illness or condition where we're told that our body's attacking itself.
And like I told you at the very beginning, it's not true.
This is outdated information.
And a movement is starting finally because of spirit and medical medium information about this.
Because we don't really have a great chance of healing if we think our body's destroying itself.
Now, if it was true, if it was true, and we'd have to swallow that, but what's not true, medical research, medical science doesn't know what's causing your problems, so the out had to be blamed on you.
It had to be targeted on you and your body because guess what?
That's the easy way out for medical research and medical science.
And so empowering yourself with this information is critical.
And when it comes down to diabetes, and we can't think our body's destroying our pancreas.
We can't because those autoantibodies, those autoantibodies are targeting a pathogen.
So with type 1 diabetes, it's pathogen based.
It's a virus is what it is.
And so those autoantibodies are attacking a viral condition that's in the pancreas.
It's working itself into the pancreas.
So when you know the difference, you could do something about it.
You can, you could do something about it.
You can empower yourself and you could rise above it.
Especially when we know what to do.
So once we know viral, we put it together, right?
We know the truth.
It's viral.
Viruses are attacking someone's pancreas, not your body.
There aren't autoantibodies attacking your pancreas.
They're there helping you.
They're there as your friend because they're fighting a viral infection.
Once we know that, you can take natural antivirals like we always talk about.
I'm going to run over a few of them at the end of the show.
You can do things, even antibacterials, antibacteria as far as with different herbs and different things we can do because they're also partly antiviral.
And we do things to clean up and rejuvenate the pancreas so we don't have to be kind of a prisoner to this autoimmune thing when really there's real reasons.
Now, type 2 diabetes, type 2 diabetes is a liver condition.
How do you like that?
You're not going to find that anywhere.
You're not going to find that anywhere.
And if you do, it came from me.
Okay?
That's where it came from.
And so it's very important to understand that.
The liver is responsible for type 2 diabetes.
And type 2 diabetes is completely reversible.
Completely.
Type 1 is completely reversible.
Okay?
In many cases, if the right things are done, if the pathogen hasn't damaged the pancreas really, really, really bad.
And even in that case, things can be done to stop it from worsening.
Type 2 diabetes, it's all liver related.
It's from the liver losing its glucose reserves.
It's from the liver losing that whole ability of getting pre-fatty liver.
It's from diets killing the liver.
It's from heavy metals killing the liver.
It's from other things, even viral conditions getting into the liver,
like Epstein-Barr, causing the liver to get sluggish and stagnant.
and then what happens, okay, is you get a problematic liver.
It's not holding glucose.
It's not releasing glucose into your bloodstream when it's supposed to.
A pre-fatty, fatty liver doesn't release glucose anymore.
Its job is to protect your pancreas.
And so that overload ends up going on your pancreas.
But it's originally the liver is the condition that causes type 2 diabetes.
And that will be understood eventually.
And I'm going to have a book coming out all about that and how that works and everything about it in detail.
But just so you know, type 2 diabetes is a pre-fatty liver.
It's a fatty liver.
It's lost its glucose.
It's stagnant.
It's not functioning right.
It doesn't balance your blood sugar anymore, which means your adrenals pump all the time, releasing adrenaline.
Epinephrine in your system, the epinephrine hinders and damages the pancreas, and your pancreas starts to get weak.
That's type 2 diabetes.
could be completely reversed.
1.5 is when you have a pathogen.
So type 1.5 diabetes is when you have a liver problem
that's sluggish and stagnant and a pre-fatty liver.
It's not releasing glucose into the bloodstream,
balancing it anymore.
And you also have a pathogen or a viral condition
starting to work on the pancreas.
So you're getting those autoantibodies just starting
and it's a slow progressive.
That's why they call it a latent type.
Type 1.5 diabetes is like latent diabetes.
It's coming late.
It's taking its time.
They just need to know what's doing it.
And we know here at this show.
So it's really important to understand.
So I just wanted to give you a rundown on a little bit about that.
We'll talk about it more.
I want to bring on Robbie now.
He's a great guy.
Wait till you hear what he has to say.
We're going to talk these things out.
I'm excited.
to Robbie come on the show this is just a great day come on come on great to be here Anthony how
you doing hey it's an honor to have you on the show it's great it's great I know you're doing
so much work and you know with diabetes it's a it's an important topic because in this country
it's rising rapidly and type 2 is hitting all levels now meaning like 20 year olds you know
teens are getting type two, you know, children younger, the getting type two. And of course,
us, you know, older people are getting type two. And so having you on board and doing what you're
doing for type two for type one, and everything is is a big deal, because it's like, we're working
together to change things out there. You know, tell me how it started with you, Robbie with
everything. Yeah, absolutely. So you like, there's a lot of confusion out there. And I'm happy to be
on board and getting this information out there. So for me, I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes
when I was 12, just about to turn 13. So that was 2002. And I just managed it normally with
a standard American diet, and then eventually came across this information of following a low-fat
plant-based diet. And in 2006, I started eating nothing but fruits and vegetables. And since then,
I've had the best management ever.
I've never had an A1C above 6.4 with my current A1C at 5.8.
And I'm eating upwards of 600, 700 grams of carbohydrates a day, strictly from fruits and vegetables.
So wait a minute.
Wait a minute.
You're actually eating carbohydrates.
You're actually eating carbohydrates.
You're eating carbs.
And your type 1 is getting better.
The foods that heal.
Whole food carbs that's full of water and fiber and pretty much all fruit.
So you know what I've noticed?
I mean, look, I've noticed this too.
If someone has a really bad type 2 diabetes situation where it's just the liver is really sluggish,
they need the insulin on top of it, but they're type 2,
the minute you start taking out their fats,
the minute you start taking out their fats,
it starts to just level out.
It starts to be controllable,
and then it starts to improve,
and then things start getting better,
and you can just get rid of type 2 altogether
because you're getting rid of the fats.
One thing that no one really gets out there,
I mean, you can take a look.
There's thousands of books out there.
You can go look into everything,
but no one gets, no one understands.
The professionals and experts don't understand.
I'm just going to say it straight out, that lowering the fat is literally the way out for diabetics.
That's what you're telling me, though, right?
I mean, you lowered your fat.
It's just fruits and vegetables you took on.
It's absolutely the way out.
And with clients, like you said, it happens dramatically, dramatically quickly.
I see it in days where people have to make medication adjustments simply by cutting out the fat and eating low-fat carbohydrates.
it. Here's what I find interesting, Robbie, is when a practitioner or someone reads a book and
they're like, okay, let's eliminate carbs. Let's eliminate processed food. Let's just do lean meats
and stuff. And let's just do some fats and some vegetables. And they see some improvements, but
But that's not the answer to fixing it.
That's just hiding the insulin resistance.
Isn't that true?
That's exactly right.
And you nailed this in your first episode on this topic.
You covered a lot of really nuanced issues about the confusion between the low-carbohydrate approach and the high-carbohydrate approach.
And the fact that, yes, to a certain extent, you can flatline your blood glucose if you decide to eat no carbohydrates.
But that's not really the problem.
The problem is insulin resistance.
The disease isn't having high blood glucose in the case of type 2 diabetes.
The disease is insulin resistant.
So they're just treating a symptom and not actually reversing the cause, which is insulin resistant.
So when you get rid of the fat, it's a problem, and then you fix your long-term problem.
Yeah, so is that why the minute you break from that diet,
so the minute that you're like, you've got your carbohydrates removed out of your diet,
you're being told to eat lots of eggs, which feeds actually the disease itself, by the way,
Even if your blood sugar levels out, it's feeding the disease and worsening the condition.
Like a lot of type 1 diabetics, they're told, eat lots of eggs, keep off the carbs and eat lots of eggs.
That's the way to control it.
But what goes wrong is the disease worsens because eggs feed the viruses that attack the pancreas.
And so the disease worsens over time.
But yet the symptoms are being hit a little bit.
same type 2 diabetes, it's like, okay, no carbohydrate diet, just lean protein or protein and vegetables.
And you can hide those numbers.
You can hide them.
But the minute you break off of that, all of a sudden the blood sugar skyrockets.
It skyrockets when you break off of that.
And it's not supposed to do that if you're getting better.
It's not supposed to do that.
But it skyrockets.
So what is that telling you?
That's telling you that you're just, you're keeping the sugar out.
Sugar's not the enemy.
We don't want anybody on processed sugar.
That's not, none of us want that.
That's the one thing we all have common in the health world.
You know, that processed sugar is not, not the right thing at all.
Once you take away that healthy carb, whatever that healthy carb could be, where it's a piece
of fruit or whatever it is, once you take away, you know, or a potato or whatever it
is that you take away, once you take away, you know, then your blood sugar comes down,
your blood sugar comes down. Once you bring it back in, your blood sugar goes up. But that's not
because of the fruit or whatever carbohydrate or the healthy squash that you're eating, like the
winter squash, the butternut squash. It's because basically what's happening is you're on so much
blood fat, you're on so much protein and blood fat that you can't bring in anything else because
your insulin resistance is through the roof with the amount of fat that's floating in the blood
bloodstream in that moment. So much insulin resistance is happening, but you don't see it.
It's hidden. It's hiding. And then the minute you bring that in, a healthy carb, boom, the blood
sugar goes through your A1C, goes through the roof. The doctor's like, whoa, you got to keep carbs out.
This is where we're backwards, completely backwards. You're absolutely right. One of my
favorite analogies is if you have a bathtub and you clog the drain in the bathtub and you start
pouring water in the bathtub, eventually it'll overflow and you'll have water spilling over the
edges. The water is not the problem in that case. It's the fact that the drain is clogged. It's the
same thing with insulin resistance. Exactly, exactly. You know, and so here's the deal.
You know, we have to know that fruit's not an enemy because here you are with type 1,
diagnosed with type 1, and you're eating fruit, but you're eating a lot of fruit every day.
That's right. It's not the enemy.
and so people have to realize you know it we we can't be afraid of those kinds of sugars
but at the same time the diet has to adjust along the way you know there has to be we have to adjust
the diet along the way we have to first of all taking out processed food is number one there's
no question processed food i mean wouldn't you say robbie all the processed carbs and everything
they just have to go absolutely avoid them yeah and and that's that's that's number one okay that
It is the right step, but it doesn't mean increasing the animal proteins.
See, this show, people know in this show I'm not against animal proteins.
If you're someone that's, you know, wherever you are with your health,
you're eating some lean protein or you're eating some salmon and it's working for you,
you're eating some turkey, but you implement so many other things we talk about
and so many things that we know and you do these things,
you could be one of those people that's fine.
But in the case of diabetes, though, it's not the answer.
instead of raising the animal proteins with any kind of diabetes.
It's about lowering them.
Even if you're transitional, like type 2 diabetes,
it's about lowering the animal protein so that the fatty liver, it breaks up.
The liver loosens up, starts releasing that fat, getting rid of that,
gets out of stagnancy and starts to function again.
So it's not about raising animal proteins and getting rid of carbs.
and that's the mistake that's being made.
It has nothing to do with, hey, what's your belief system?
Do I believe in animal protein or not?
Do I believe in vegan diet, vegetarian, paleo diets?
That's not it.
It's about what the condition is and what you need to do for the condition.
And in the case of diabetes or just say hypoglycemia,
the whole thing, or hyperglycemia, you want to lower the animal proteins
or say you were a vegan and you don't eat animal proteins.
Say you're a vegan and all you do is eat lots of avocados, lots and lots of nut butters, lots and lots of coconut oil.
You have to lower that if you're dealing with hypoglycemia.
You have to lower that if you're dealing with type 2 diabetes.
You have to lower that if you're dealing with type 1.5, type 1 diabetes.
So if you're vegan or plant-based, you still have to lower those fats down.
I mean, Robbie, what do you know about that with exactly the plant-based diets with that?
So it's absolutely true.
I'm including the plant-based fats in this topic.
As far as, you know, the meats, there really is no such thing as low-fat animal products or meats or anything like that.
So you want to cut them out.
But for the plant-based foods, you know, as a type 1 diabetic and coaching a lot of other type 1 diabetics,
we get instant feedback.
I know exactly how much insulin I'm injecting and what my blood glucose is every two hours or however often I want to measure it.
So we can see objectively how things like avocado and coconut meat and nuts,
how that affects people's blood glucose.
And time and time again, you see how it makes things out of control
and makes you more insulin resistant.
So type 1 diabetics also have to deal with insulin resistance and be aware of it.
And you see when they eat those plant-based fats, you need more insulin,
and your blood glucose becomes much harder to manage.
So it's just better to really minimize them.
I'm not trying to avoid them and never have them, but just minimize them and have the proper amount.
Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.
It really does.
You know, over the decades, I've helped people with type 2 diabetes completely reverse and get their lives back,
get rid of type 2 like it didn't exist, never mind pre-diabetics, which is the simplest fix on the planet.
Out of the things to fix that we have that we struggle with, pre-diabetes is ridiculously easy.
I'm not saying that from a stand.
It's true.
It's true.
I know you don't say it in a condescending way.
It's a way of hope and to let people know, like, look, you're in control of it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It really, that's why regular mainstream doctors, you know, they have somebody with
prediabetes and they say they're a little bit more forward thinking.
They're a regular mainstream diet.
They're like, exercise more and cut out your, you know, fun foods, whatever that is.
And once someone starts to cut out their fun foods and exercise a little more,
pre-diabetes drops.
I mean, and just imagine if you go all the way.
You go like, you know, and you really do the right thing.
And then it even goes further and further.
And it's like that all the way down the line.
You know, it's just that with type 1 diabetes, like for instance, you know,
you and I have talked in the past, you know, the whole thing.
You're started with like some food poisoning, which is a pathogen.
I mean, Robbie, it started with like a food poisoning thing when you were younger, right?
Yeah, that's when I got diagnosed.
I remember specifically I had just started eating these Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches
that we bought from Sam's Club in a bulk amount.
And I was loving them and having so many.
And that's when the type 1 diagnosis came on.
Yeah, you know, basically what happens is that, you know, twofold was happening there.
One is they were really high in fat.
And fats max out the pancreas.
That's another thing.
That just reminded me of something that's so ironically not funny but just ironically weird is that if we up the animal proteins, which means lots of animal fat, and we up it with diabetes, that's still harder on the pancreas.
It's even harder on the pancreas, even if there's no sugar in the diet or carbohydrate to showcase the symptoms.
Like the symptoms aren't there.
Your A1C is dropping.
your symptoms aren't there because you have all your carbohydrates out, but you're upping the
animal protein fats, what happens is you're harming the pancreas more and more and faster
and faster. You just can't see it. And this accelerates the diseases with diabetes. So in
that case of like, say somebody's sausage or somebody's whatever it is, or some kind of muffin
with a sausage in it, whatever's going on, it's all that fat in there that's putting a lot of
pressure on the pancreas. And then if you have a food poisoning episode, you have a bacterial
episode where it attacks the pancreas for a moment for food poisoning. That is all it needs to damage
the pancreas enough to trip it up and to get that type 1 diagnosis. But the thing is, is to bring
anyone's pancreas back, no matter whose pancreas it is, it's about lowering the fat. It really is.
It's about lowering the fat.
I'm not trying to be the food police today, but I'm just saying if someone wants their
diabetes gone or improved or their pancreas improved or moving forward with it, the fats
got to lower.
And like I said, even if it's a plant-based diet, I'm not taking sides here.
I'm not taking sides like, oh, I'm against paleo today or I'm against plant-based today.
That's not it at all.
The fats have to lower.
If they don't, you can't improve or protect your pancreas or clean up the liver and get
rid of rid of the liver stagnancy and the liver problem that causes type 2 diabetes and you know
these things have you know you have to monitor your fat levels now if it's too scary at first
i mean robbie when you run into people what's like what what are they saying are they like you
know in shock that their diet has to change uh most people they're they're they don't believe
it they're definitely in shock and they don't believe that it's going to work for them they
They think, oh, maybe I'm an anomaly or maybe the testimonials I have are an anomaly, but it's not going to apply to them.
And I just say, look, give it a try.
And anybody who gives it a try, the results happen inevitably, 100% of the time.
You can reverse insulin resistance when you lower your fat and eat whole plant food.
You know, I got a 28-day cleanse in my first book, Medical Medium Secrets, and I have a 28-day cleanse in there.
And right now on my Facebook pages, on the Facebook page, there's people that are on there all the time, you know, leaving testimonials, you know, all about how their type 2 is gone, how their, you know, need for insulin is down, how they're reversing it completely, how their prediabetes is gone.
All of that's happening.
And that's just from a 28-day cleanse.
You know, and the 28-day cleanse is no fat in the diet for a little while.
What that does is it instantly stops insulin resistance, instantly shuts down insulin resistance right there in its tracks.
And this is one of the secrets.
This is actually one of the secrets to recovery.
And like Robbie, like you were saying, it's not like you never can eat fat or something.
And depending on how far your condition is or where your condition is, you can level off different things.
If you're someone and you have a little bit of lean protein in there once in a while or something like that, but you have type 2 diabetes, if you bring it down as low as you can and then bring as much fresh fruits and vegetables in, you're there.
You don't have to – some of these people that we know, like I know that say, hey, I can't give that up.
But I've heard that with just anything.
There's people that tell me I can't give up cigarettes, and there's people that tell me I can't give up alcohol.
and there's people that tell me I can't give up bagels.
And I hear that all the time, and I totally get it 100%.
I get it because life isn't so easy.
We have the things that give us comfort.
We have the things that we lean on.
And I'm with you 100%, 100% because I understand that.
I mean, I get it.
But when you actually do lower and bring these things down,
people start seeing the results.
And once you start seeing the results a little bit and you break through that fear a little bit and you start seeing a little bit of results, then it takes off like wildfire.
I mean, Robbie, have you seen that with people where the minute they're starting to heal, they're all of a sudden like, I can't believe this?
Yeah, it happens all the time.
People come into a group coaching online with my fellow diabetes expert, Dr. Cyrus Kambada.
And people come into the group all the time and they're just like, if I didn't see it in my own body, I just I wouldn't believe it.
it and the amount of the speed that it happens is what really shocks people but then just the
dramatic ingrained people are doubling tripling quadrupling their carbon take and then reducing
their medication i mean people come to our retreat in four days we're feeding them literally nothing
but fruit and greens that's all we're feeding them and in four days there i have had several
people get off their metformin one woman was on invocana she's off for medication and we have
medical doctors on staff to make sure everything is safe.
But the speed at which it happens is really shocking to most people.
Yeah, because you're taking away the insulin resistance immediately.
Right.
And instead of trying to hide it, to try to shove it in a closet.
Yeah, and I want to tell you, I'm not the food police either.
You know, if somebody, if they want to include certain things here and there, that's totally fine.
We let people do that.
We just always teach them, you know, hey, these are the consequences of your decisions.
And it's totally up to you.
and, you know, the facts are the facts,
and you can decide how far you want to take your health.
It's totally up to you.
Yeah, I had someone say to me,
had someone say to me and say,
look, you know, it sounds to me like you just believe in one way of eating
or you believe in this.
And I said, no, when it comes down to diabetes, okay,
when it comes down to, you know, what's hard on the pancreas,
which is all that fat,
when it comes down to what's hard on the liver,
which is part of the diabetes, which is all that fat,
And then things like eggs, which actually feeds the viruses that get into the pancreas and cause type 1.
When it comes down to that, it's about doing the right thing.
It has nothing to do with what I like or not.
For example, so then I said to this person, I said, Robbie, I go, well, okay, well, what about celiac?
You know, I mean, so what you're telling me is that don't take away wheat?
Don't take away wheat and gluten if you got celiac?
What that means is when you have celiac,
wheat gluten tends to bother everybody.
Obviously, we don't.
Medical research, medical science thinks the body's attacking itself with the celiac.
That's actually not true.
What the truth is about that, since we're in this for a second,
is the gluten feeds a pathogen inside the intestinal tract.
It's feeding off of it, having a frenzy.
It's using it as food, and that's what causes the inflammation with celiac.
So that's the real cause.
That's the real reason.
You're only going to get that here at the Medical Medium Show.
You're not going to get that anywhere else.
So here's the deal.
What do you do?
Leave the weak gluten in if you have celiac?
No, see, we're not taught yet that we need the fats lowered with diabetes.
We're not taught that.
So then it looks like it's an attack on the food.
It looks like it's an attack on the belief system.
It looks like it's an attack on that.
But really, it has nothing to do with that.
It's just that here's the truth.
You just got to lower the fats or remove the fats,
get the insulin resistance down, and then you can improve and actually heal and move forward
and reverse this disease. It's like with celiac, you got to stop the gluten and the weak gluten
and all the different gluten products so that you're not feeding that disease. And, you know,
so it's not about, hey, you know, it's about what you have to look out for that's involved.
And so, I mean, that's how we have to look at it.
We have to look at it like, wait a minute, okay.
Because look, I let people eat fat in many different fats in many occasions.
Lots of avocado I let people eat.
I let people eat some nuts.
I let people eat hemp seeds, coconut oil, olive oil, which is – there's a lot of plant-based practitioners out there that are totally against olive oil.
but it's not about you know what belief system it is it's about you know where that person is at
with their life and their diet i let people eat salmon and let people eat turkey whatever but
here's the deal when it comes down to diabetes it's about insulin resistance it's about lowering
your fats it's about making that happen and then you can you can really reverse things i mean and
it's a big deal it really is and the work you're doing robbie is huge it's huge because you got
people in there with their conditions reversing. You got their A1Cs down. You got the whole thing
going. And I hope people who have diabetes or any kind of blood sugar issues, I hope they contact
you. Tell everybody how they could reach you. Yes. Well, thank you, Anthony. Nothing makes me
happier. It puts a bigger smile on my face than seeing people heal their diabetes. So it's just,
if anyone wants to do a favor for me or do something nice to me, all I ask for them is just
apply this lifestyle, do it, and nothing will make me happier.
So if you can contact me, the best place is to go to my website,
MindfulDiabetic.com, and there you can sign up for the newsletter,
and people who sign up for the newsletter get the early announcement for retreats
that will be coming up.
And then there's a page for coaching.
You can learn all about the coaching services that I offer
and the group coaching I offer with Dr. Cyrus Kambada.
And people can fill out a health evaluation,
and they can set up a call for me to see if they're a good fit for the program
and if I can help them.
That's amazing.
It really is.
That's incredible.
And so I'd say we take on some callers that have some blood sugar issues.
I think that's a great way of doing it.
So we have line one.
We have Jenny, line one.
How are you?
Hello.
Is that me?
Yes, that's you.
You're actually on the air.
We have Robbie here.
Tell us what's going on.
Yes, I've had type 2 diabetes for this year.
It's my 13th year, and I've slowly progressed to more medications.
I'm currently on Janimeth and lupicide.
And I've fluctuated the past few months from 6.8.
Now I'm at an 8A1C.
And I don't know if there's any, well, after listening to just recently now to your call,
after your show, I didn't realize that fat plays a big part of it, you know, in it.
So I was just wondering, is there anything else I need to do besides eliminating or reducing
fat to help me?
So you were diagnosed, so Jenny, you were diagnosed with type 2 diabetes for over 13
years now.
Yes.
What are you doing?
Are you doing things right now?
Are you lowering your fat intake?
or you're keeping all your bad sugars out, though, right?
That's a whole other story.
Bad sugar's got to go.
And that's where we're all on board in the world of health.
All that's gone, right?
Yes, yes.
Except, you know, one or two, once in a while.
I mean, like once a month.
But, yeah, I must admit I haven't totally eliminated,
but I'm like 90%.
Well, that's...
I've gotten rid of...
Yeah.
Robbie, do you think, you know, it's okay, Robbie, we have really bad audio with you.
I might have to let you go in a minute.
Robbie, do you think that's because she's not bringing enough fruit in too that she has to lean on that other carbohydrate, the bad sugar?
Yeah, that's definitely, your body craves that stuff and it wants it.
So the best thing, I think she just said she just learned about low fat being the problem.
So I think you start changing that and start eating, you know, low fat plant-based foods and be careful.
contact your doctor about your medication changes because it will change quickly.
Thanks for joining, Jenny.
We're going to take line two.
So line two, Carrie.
Hi, Carrie, are you there?
I'm here.
Hi.
Great.
We're here with Robbie.
Tell me what's going on.
Well, my son has had type 1 diabetes for a decade now.
He's 15.
And so we're in puberty.
So the glucose is just a roller coaster.
His A1C is right around 7.4, which is, you know, a little high.
But for a teen, I'm curious if for a growing teen, is only fruits and vegetables okay?
Also, he does have celiac disease.
He was diagnosed with celiac disease literally just a couple weeks after he got diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.
The reason why is the virus that actually affects the pancreas gets into the intestinal tract and causes inflammation and causes celiac.
That's why it's the same virus.
And the pancreas is part of the digestive tract.
That's the whole point.
That's the same virus that actually was in there.
And that's how that works.
that's in that right now is not being looked at by medical research and medical science.
And that has to be someday so that our 14-year-old sons don't become 50 years old,
and then their sons and their sons don't go through the same old thing.
And this is where it has to change.
Robbie, she had a really good question there about,
is fruits and vegetables, is that enough to raise someone?
Yeah, absolutely.
As long as you're getting enough calories, there's no problem.
So you learn about calorie density and making sure when you're switching to plant-based foods,
especially fruits, you just have to increase the volume,
and you're getting all the nutrition you need, no problem.
So he likes, okay, so I know we're going to try out cauliflower pizza
instead of, you know, like the rice breading and everything.
So is pasta, like no pasta or anything like that, just fruits and vegetables?
Well, there's all kinds of sort of mock pastas.
I mean, you could make zucchini pasta.
There's some black bean pastas.
There's all kinds of different pasta options,
but in most cases, in his case specifically,
he'd probably definitely avoid wheat pasta.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
We don't have any of that with the celiac.
I would probably avoid, Carrie, any kind of rice pasta
I would look more at, believe it or not, potato could be better than steamed potatoes could be better than pastas.
Okay.
So that's something.
Robbie, how do you feel about steamed potato, Robbie?
Absolutely. It's perfect.
Yeah, we're actually having those tonight.
I know I might sound like a broken record sometimes.
It's like Anthony does with his celery juice.
But at the end of the day, it's literally just a question of how much fat is he consuming?
Use a nutrition software.
I need all kinds of nutrition softwares online.
Enter the food that he's eating and calculate what percent of calories are coming from fat,
how many total grams of fat he's eating, and you start minimizing that
and really objectively analyzing what's going on.
You'll see dramatic changes, and he'll get off the roller coaster.
Okay.
And, Anthony, is this no dairy whatsoever?
Oh, yeah.
Dairy is tricky.
So for him, would it be absolutely no dairy?
Yeah, the reason why is because dairy is the worst sugar of them all.
That's the worst sugar of them all.
That's the sugar that actually can cause the highest amount of insulin resistance there is.
It can max out a pancreas.
I've seen dairy just trip up and cause type 1 because it totally maxed out the pancreas to such a degree.
And one reason why it goes to type 1 is because dairy feeds pathogens that cause type 1 diabetes.
So the undiscovered pathogens, which like HHV-6 and different viruses that Spirit knows about, that we know about, that I'm putting out in books.
And those different viruses that get into the pancreas, they feed off of dairy products.
Dairy products are by far the worst when it comes down to type 1, to any kind of diabetes, to any kind of illness, to any kind of disease, to any kind of symptoms, conditions.
dairy has to go. Dairy has more sugar in it than you can possibly imagine. The lactose is highly
concentrated. It makes table sugar look like a joke, like a joke, like table sugar cannot match
lactose. Even if it looks like it does, if it looks like table sugar is worse in the lab,
it's actually not because concentrated lactose has a bombshell in there because it's attached to fat.
dairy that's the lactose attached to fat it makes it literally dangerous absolutely keep keep them
off of dairy without a doubt there's no doubt okay and then um protein for protein for him
nuts are okay i know he does like avocado he's not really picky on food i mean he's 15 and has
had to have gluten-free food ever since he was five amazing so it's amazing my daughter has like
41 food allergies and that my daughter will not touch a thing so for her we have a whole other
issue with her but for him this is the diabetes show um what real quick like what other types
of protein because i just think doesn't protein stabilize the blood sugar or no well here's here's
the deal that's what we've been taught the past 10 years protein here's you know here's here's
the deal. If you strip protein out of food, like take protein by itself, literally an only protein,
there's no carbohydrate left, whether it's a fat calorie or a sugar calorie, a carb or a fat
calorie, you just remove all calories and just leave the protein by itself and eat gobbles and
gobbles of it. You'll starve to death. You'll, you'll waste away to 60 pounds and, and a person
will die. Our muscles run on a carbohydrate. Take carbohydrates away from an athlete and
they'll have to quit or retire or call it quits. So what happens is you have to realize
it's not the protein that's giving us everything. Protein's important. It's giving us things,
but there's plenty of it available. I mean, Robbie, like spinach alone, isn't that like
someone's protein needs in a day, just a pile of spinach once a day?
Yeah, I mean, protein is the least thing that he would need to worry about.
It's so overblown out of proportion.
But more importantly, people are saying it's not the high-protein food,
but really not the high-fat food causing a lot of problems.
You get enough calories from whole foods, you absolutely get enough protein.
It's built into nature's design.
Because I always think, maybe I'm just wrong,
because I always think teen, you know, they need, like, a ton of food.
You know, and I just think, oh, protein, you know, it's going to last longer or whatever.
So, yeah.
OK, I don't have to worry about that.
I mean, no, you're.
Yeah.
I did not know that about spinach.
He loves spinach.
Well, his protein needs are going to are going to be in the spinach, but not as calorie needs.
So if he eats a pile of spinach and only has that and a half an apple, he's going to be starving.
But but he had a ton of protein.
He had a ton of protein.
He had a lot of protein.
If you have like, for instance, breast milk, breast milk is just a very small breast milk
is sugar water.
So when we have babies and we feed our babies our breast milk, it's straight sugar water.
That's what it is.
It's there's there's one percent protein and there's very little fat and there it's all
sugar.
That's what breast milk is.
It's sweet.
It's watery.
It's sugar water.
And so because growing up children doesn't require a lot of protein, it requires carbohydrates
dehydrate or the child can't grow. You see how it works? And this means throughout our life. And
I'm not against protein. I'm just stating the facts that it's something that we don't have to
fear we're getting enough because we're getting plenty all the time. It's about the other things
we need. It's about the phytochemicals in the food to actually help reverse his type one. And Robbie,
I didn't even go into that today about the phytochemicals. In my Life Changing Foods book
that I got coming out.
I talk about all the phytochemicals in there
that help reverse things.
And phytochemicals are in these fruits and vegetables.
They're not in other things.
They're in the fruits and vegetables, Carrie.
And that's what helps restore the pancreas.
And that's what's important.
Okay.
And one other quick thing.
Actually, real, real quick.
Is soy milk okay?
They drink, both my kids drink the plant-based,
you know, soy milk.
Is that okay to drink?
Other than that,
What's your thought? Water. Yeah. What's your thought about that, Robbie?
I think for some people it's OK. Some people have an intolerance to it, but it's OK.
It's not ideal, but it's OK.
Carrie, thanks for coming on. I'm going to have to let you go. You're amazing. Your son's amazing.
Tell him we love him over here and we're proud of him.
For real, just so proud of him. So, you know, Robbie, I wanted to tell you why we're coming towards the end of the show here.
wild blueberries, blackberries, schissandra berries, raspberries, elderberry tea, rose hips,
incredible for restoring the pancreas. One thing I forgot to mention earlier,
that to reverse pancreatic damage from pathogens that cause type 1 and pathogens and viruses like
Epstein-Barr that cause type 2 diabetes by making the liver sluggish, you use foods like wild
blueberries, the antioxidants, those phytochemicals involved, those antioxidants help restore damaged
tissue. So medical research, medical science is supposed to actually be saying, hey, how do we
restore this pancreas? How do we restore this liver? Well, they don't even know liver has
anything to do with any kind of diabetes. So, well, they'll just be like, they should be saying,
hey, how do we restore that pancreas? And it's the antioxidants that are critical. I want to
tell everybody that plus supplements like the b12 i talk about zinc that's another one it's critical
it's a critical antiviral because when you're dealing with type one you're dealing with a viral
condition to the liver or a bacterial damage like a food poisoning and you want that zinc in there
you want you know um lemon balm tea that's a great one oregano thyme sage licorice root tea
hyssop so everybody out there you know replay the show so you can write all those down you know go
back to the archives you can write all those down you got to be on your zinc your b12 you got to be
in your lemon balm oregano thyme sage incorporate those whether it's fresh or a little bit of tea
and that's really helpful and getting in these these you know these anti high antioxidant
fruits papaya is another one that's loaded with phytochemicals that helps with the pancreas
Robbie, I can't believe I had you on today.
You're the first guest I've ever had in the Medical Medium Show.
And hey, rightfully so, because you deserve it, man.
You deserve it.
I am so honored.
Thank you very much, Anthony.
It's incredible.
And that's a great honor.
You're helping so many people.
So just give everybody one more shout out on how to reach you.
Yeah, so the best way is go to my website, mindfuldiabetic.com.
There's a contact form on there.
You can get in touch with me, and I'm happy to talk to people and help them out, answer their questions.
And if they're fit for one of our programs, they can sign up for one of those.
Incredible.
Awesome.
This is great.
So we're at the closing now.
Remember to join me next week right here, 5 p.m. Eastern, and we're going to talk about the healing powers of wild foods.
You can't miss this.
And I have an entire wild food section in Life Changing Foods, my new book coming up.
You have to see that someday.
Make sure you get a pre-order in if you want to be at that webinar.
That's live 90 minutes.
No one's going to hear that webinar any other way.
I need people to heal.
I need people to grow.
I didn't kill myself putting that book together.
You should see it.
That book is a monster.
It is really fat, and it is big, and it has information that Spirit and I put in there.
It has decades of information, of the most advanced information, the power of wild foods.
We're going to talk about that.
There's an epidemic of chronic illness, and it's a stressful pace of modern life.
It's never been more important to protect our health.
So you know we're into fruits and vegetables.
We know we're into all this good stuff, which is incredible.
But when it comes down to really pushing the limit, meaning pushing the bar, we need those wild foods.
I'm going to talk about it.
They're accessible.
They're at your fingertips.
I laid them out all in the book.
I'm not going to cover that.
I'm just going to cover little pieces because we only have so much time.
The book would take days and days and days and days to go through the wild food section.
There's so much information in there.
So make sure you're there with me.
And, you know, next week, I'm looking forward to it.
Remember about my L.A. event?
We're doing the Light Blast.
I don't want anybody to miss it.
Amazing things occur since I've been the age of four.
And from there on, receive this gift.
Spirit, when I was old enough, Spirit said, when I asked, what more can I do for people?
And I remember even being seven, eight years old saying, Spirit, what more can I do?
You know, the grocery stores had nothing in them back in that day.
I'm not trying to date myself, but it had hardly nothing in it.
The other thing is, you know, there was nothing organic in stores back in that day.
There was no medicines on the shelf that were natural.
You go into a pharmacy, you even ask for echinacea, they would laugh you out of the pharmacy.
And so I said to Spirit, what can we do?
And Spirit taught me how to do the light blast, to send light on top of everybody's head from Spirit.
I've been doing it since I was a child.
It ignites the healing process.
So no matter what, that's something I can do and help people.
Check into that medicalmedium.com.
Look into the event.
Look, it's all about you healing.
That's what matters.
That's the whole point.
That's where the passion comes from in me because you need to know the truth.
And the truth does heal.
Remember that.
The truth does help us heal.
Never forget it.
I love you.
